Our favorite weddings are the joy-filled ones. The ones where you know the bride & groom hope for beautiful skies, but don’t really care about the weather too much. Because that’s not what their wedding day is about. Its about love and unity and a lifetime of happiness and support. Blue skies are a bonus.
Meet Sammy, of Sammy & Chris. She’s radiant and beautiful inside and out, and I love her hair.
Meet Chris. He’s softspoken and sweet, and used to model in Japan. Fantastic jaw line. 😉
Their friends are fun and helpful, and had smiles all around all day.
Sammy got dressed with her mom and best friend Lauren while her bridesmaids waited patiently. She used her grandmother’s perfume to keep her memory close throughout the day.
They chose to have a private first look. No onlookers, just a moment for them.
These are my favorite kind of portraits. We adored this group because not only were they super sweet and welcoming, but they had fun with the pictures. Which of course meant lots of laughs, hugs and good-hearted silliness.
I love the mix of soft pink and lavender dresses and bowties for the wedding party. The flowers by The Flower Mill tied the color palette together beautifully.
In honor of Chris’s modeling…
Chris & Sammy’s ceremony was on the lawn at Zukas, overlooking rolling hills. The smiles in support of these two were everywhere throughout the day, even during the usually-nerve-wracking processional.
Note to FOBs (that’s Father of Bride) everywhere – plan to shake the hand of the groom, or hug, or some exchange, after you kiss your daughter. hehe.
Sammy & Chris wrote their own vows, and oddly had almost identical promises to one another, even down to the obscure band they chose to quote. It was kind of insane. And totally perfect.
Let’s talk about Zukas for a minute. Ben and I were married here exactly 10 years and one day before Sammy & Chris, so it was awesome to be back on our anniversary. Everything about this gorgeous farm wedding venue in Central Massachusetts is absolutely perfect. The grounds, the tent, the food, the staff and Allison who makes it all happen so smoothly and always with a smile.
Oh note to wedding guests everywhere…have fun with your photographer! It makes us happy. And then you end up in our feature. 🙂
This couple is so incredibly thoughtful that I wasn’t surprised that they chose to welcome their guests before the reception festivities began.
That moment when your dad says that your daughter got the better end of the deal. Though Sammy seems to agree!
Sammy & Chris enjoyed absolutely every minute of their wedding day – they took their appetizer course with them and ate while they mingled with family & friends, and when the light was just right, we headed out for some quiet evening portraits together.
Their connection and happiness and love is infectious. Its a pleasure to be around, and an even bigger pleasure to capture.
The rest of the night was spent dancing to exhaustion. I will forever think of this crew when I hear the song Moni.
Sammy & Chris, thank you. For always being a pleasure, for just being you, for loving each other the way you do. And for inviting us to be a part of your story.
