It’s been a bit since we’ve actually photographed a wedding in Boston, which is kind of funny since we’re a Boston-based wedding photography and videography team.
Every season is a little different, and our bookings seem to come in waves. This year took us all over New England – and then finally back “home.” starting with Colleen & Nate’s gorgeous Boston Harbor Hotel summer wedding.
They wedding ceremony was at Cathedral of the Holy Cross, followed by portraits at Fan Pier, oysters on the BHH pavilion and a dance-filled reception at the Boston Harbor Hotel. But first, getting ready in their suite at the hotel…
Colleen is an auntie, and including her littles was really important to her – meet the flower girls and ring bearer, who’s giving snuggles to Tara, one of our 2016 brides who got married at another beautiful coastal Massachusetts wedding venue, the Oceanview at Nahant. She was expecting her own son at this time (and is now a new mama!), and it was like Colleen’s nephew could sense her baby fever. He was ready to take advantage and snuggle her up. 
They chose an iconic church in Boston for their wedding ceremony – Cathedral of the Holy Cross. These two are classic elegance mixed with an easy-going “love to eat and kick back with friends and family” vibe…and this mix is exactly the plan they had in store for guests.
I love the depth of the photo above, with everyone looking back at them. And below – Colleen wanted the ceremony exit moment without a big production/timeline delay, so we planned for a small one with just their wedding party and immediate families! Her joy in the left one is everything.
We chose Fan Pier in the Seaport District for all portraits – there’s no better view of Boston, and their summer wedding venue – Boston Harbor Hotel – is front and center.
Colleen & Nate love that the Boston Harbor Hotel is an icon to the city, and they knew it would give their friends and family – especially out of town guests – an incredible taste of Boston. They also knew the food is phenomenal. I mentioned earlier that these two are foodies – one of the things they were most excited about was the raw bar spread! BHH has a fantastic indoor/outdoor cocktail hour space right on the Boston Harbor where everyone can enjoy gorgeous views and incredible food before heading into the real party in the Wharf Room.
C&N, congratulations. We are so glad that Tara and Will brought us together, it was the most magical day!
