Jason & Lauren’s Red Barn at Outlook Farm Wedding

Lauren knew he was the one after their first date. And she cried because she was moving 6 hours away and had “just met the perfect guy.” She was right about Jason, and the two were married in November at The Red The Red Barn at Outlook Farm at Outlook Farm, in the beautiful farm land of South Berwick Maine.

Ben and I had been to The Red Barn as guests when they first opened years ago, and it was such a pleasure to be back. The grand ballroom is beautiful, and Allie and her team are accomodating and friendly. Couple that with good food and Ripcord, and insanely good band that we started referring the very next day, and you’ve got yourself one incredible wedding.

There’s a rising wedding ceremony trend that we LOVE – the Unplugged Ceremony. The unplugged ceremony encourages family and friends to put down the phones, cameras and tablets to be truly present during the ceremony. Which means everyone sees Lauren walking down the aisle first-hand, rather than through their phone screen. And everyone feels the moments, the vows, the readings. The love and the joy of their union.

Taking away the use of devices changes the feeling of the wedding…and it also keeps the pictures classic. No one in the aisle obstructing the professionally-captured first kiss picture (it happens!). No pop-up flashes blowing out pro pictures. No flashy phone cases distracting from the beautiful, classic wedding moments they’ll cherish in a timeless album. Just memories of being present during this incredible moment. We’ve got the pictures covered, promise.

Lauren’s details were the perfect mix of rustic meets elegance. They used an old window from their 1928 home, birch branches as the placecard holders, a wood-grained invitation, and a soft color palette.

I absolutely adore Lauren’s mom! She’s welcoming and super fun and has a million siblings who are the same.

Lauren is stunning and kind, and was absolutely breathtaking. She wanted to share a special moment with her dad before the ceremony. She was worried about waterworks, and she was right…though it was her and not her father!

I love Jason’s expression as he watches his bride approach. I think he held his breath for a solid 2 minutes…

Married! So it was pretty chilly outside, but it was still light out after their wedding ceremony in the Red Barn’s Grand Ballroom. Sweet, soft golden hour light. Totally worth the shivers, thank you ladies! And the fellas too, but they have jackets soooo.

Lauren is beyond stunning in the picture on the left. Stunning. Magazine stunning. The elegant plunging neckline on her lace gown truly suited her, and I’m in love with her bouquet.

Once the wedding party headed in to enjoy cocktail hour, we headed to the rolling hills to capture the scenic farmland and let these two practice their first dance. Even in the cold, it was a great opportunity to step away and enjoy each other while the party started up inside.

The staff at the Red Barn completely transformed the Grand Ballroom for Lauren & Jason’s reception, with tall centerpieces and the long ivy-lined head table. The room was absolutely beautiful. I’ll leave you with some of my favorite moments & details of the night…enjoy!

Congratulations to Jason & Lauren, and a special shout out to my little friend from the night, pictured above!
