Wow, it feels like its been a long while since I’ve shared a wedding highlight. We recently kicked off our 2017 wedding season with Kristina & Zach at Wentworth By The Sea, a gorgeous historic hotel and wedding venue just outside of Portsmouth NH…and Portsmouth just happens to be one of our favorite places. So you know we got up there extra early for lunch at Popovers on the Square!
Though accessible by road (drawbridge!), Wentworth By The Sea is actually on an island, New Castle, in New Hampshire. As we headed over the bridge, we chatted about Zach & Kristina and their story, beyond happy that our season was starting with these two incredibly kind-hearted, laid-back people.
Kristina surprised Zach with a gift…a watch, complete with a note to be on time, hehe.
Kristina got ready with her best ladies and her mom, and the very last step was to carefully place her veil, a veil that has been worn many times, starting in 1923. It is truly a family heirloom and the stitching was beautiful. It 100% completed Kristina’s look.
These two planned the cutest first look with sooooo many white balloons! We braved the unseasonably-chilly day, oceanside nonetheless, and it was absolutely worth it.
Kristina & Zach shared so many laughs throughout the day, but they also shared some softer moments, mostly unseen by others, but deeply felt by them.
How cute are the Kate Spade Mr & Mrs balloons?! These maaay have gotten entirely tangled up on the ride to the beach, so we lost some length here, but made it work. And had silly amounts of fun while figuring it all out.
Kristina & Zach chose to do a private first look, and then met their wedding party for group portraits back at the marina at Wentworth.
The Wentworth Marina angels blessed these two with not only access to the private docks, but also invited them to use their boat for pictures. And so “the Titanic.”
This picture is one of my favorites of the day – its so expressionate of how every bride should feel on her wedding day, and it makes my heart happy that Kristina did! This is the last moment I saw her before she came down the aisle at their garden ceremony on the Wentworth lawn.
Kristina’s mom was there for her throughout the day, helping her get into her gown, walking her down the aisle, and dancing with her at the reception. Beautiful mama.
K&Z presented their moms with roses during the ceremony, and the moments were so sweet…had to go black and white.
Fave picture of Zach on the right!
Kristina & Zach LOVE spring flowers, and made sure to have lots throughout the day. Jardiniere Flowers adorned the tables in the ballroom so beautifully, with tulips and daffodils in simple tall vases because that’s all that was needed. Flowers also wrapped the cake by Jacques Pastries.
Soooo, surprise of the night: when the Best Man & MOH swap clothes before intros. HA! It was priceless. And they rocked them all the way through the speeches…Zach said seeing his brother in a dress was the only thing that saved him from tears, because his little brother Ben gave the most incredible toast. It was exactly what I hope my little Cooper will say about his big brother at Trevor’s wedding some day. (Future MOG here.)
Without a word, Zach danced with his grandmother as if no one else was around. Ben captured the moment beautifully.
Congratulations Zach & Kristina…we had the most wonderful time celebrating your marriage with you, and can’t wait to hear about HAWAII!!!
