It’s throwback Thursday! I’ve reached into the archives and pulled out one of my most favorite weddings, which took place at the beautiful Newport RI wedding venue, Castle Hill Inn. Its one of my favorites for many reasons, the biggest reason being the two beautiful people getting married – Libby & Chris. These are two of the most genuine, kind-hearted people I’ve ever met. We connected from the start, even before their firehouse engagement session…Chris is a firefighter, and he totally indulged my inner 5 year old, giving me a tour of a ladder truck and all their fire equipment. I was clearly meant to be a mom of boys!
Their day wasn’t “perfect” by general wedding day standards…it was overcast with threats of rain, and windy as anything. But it was completely their perfect day. I overheard them say several times, “this is our wedding day, and it is how it is. And that’s how we want it captured.” This sentiment still brings a smile to my face. Such amazing perspective, especially after how much time and effort goes into planning a wedding day. They were married in a secluded area overlooking the Narraganssett Bay opening with 30 of their favorite people. The rain held off just long enough for family pictures, and started just after everyone headed inside the Inn for their 5-course dinner. Theirs was a beautiful, joyful day. One I’ll always be thrilled to have been a part of.
