Catherine & Sean had a beautiful day at their Chocksett Inn wedding in Sterling MA.
We always love photographing weddings at Chocksett Inn, particularly because of the staff (especially Tianna, the event director and fellow family client of ours!) & the beautiful garden venue grounds.
But this wedding was especially sweet because of who we were photographing. I met Catherine YEARS ago at a family wedding, and we photographed Sean’s sister’s wedding (completely unrelated!) in 2011. We also worked closely with her cousins as they started Head Over Heels, which is now a thriving boutique Cape Cod Bridal Shop.
She told me way back then that when she got married, we would be her photographers. Last year I got an email that said “It’s me, Catherine. And I’m engaged!!!” It was time. We were so happy to be their Chocksett Inn wedding photographers!
Family is everything to these two. So it was perfect to start at the home Catherine grew up in while Sean was at the home they just bought …directly next to Sean’s mom! I love the sweetness of her niece & nephew, holding hands in her parents’ living room while she got her bridal makeup applied.
Catherine’s mom is a seamstress and has helped so many brides get ready for their wedding day over the years. Getting her own daughter ready was so emotional and special.
Sky comparison – within 10 minutes, the skies went from sunny to grey & ominous. How serendipitous that her Reverend suggested an early arrival time to the church so we beat the HAIL. Yep, frozen ice balls…in the middle of June. But it didn’t matter one bit.
I love the picture on the left. Sean watched her like that through so much of the ceremony. His devotion is so clear! His brother was best man and keeper of the Lilly Pulitzer-inspired ring pillow…that matched the bow ties and flower girl ribbon! Catherine is obsessed with all things happy & bright and 99% of the time is wearing Lilly Pulitzer…so what better than to include on the wedding day!
This picture is one of my favorites of the day, where Catherine, her mom and her dad all watch on as Sean makes his promises to his almost-wife.
They wanted to greet everyone in person without feeling stress during the reception…so they factored in time for a receiving line leaving the church, which turned into a celebration in Paxton square!
Sean’s mom is the matchmaker here. She knew they’d be a match and Sean fell in love with Catherine the first time he met her. I kind of did too!
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing two of the three bridesmaids! Her MOH is her “little” cousin and this was our first time working together. But I have photographed Allison at two previous weddings AND her beautiful family before the addition of their littlest. Kristyn was one of my first brides, back in 2011. It was so much fun to have them in front of my camera again…and I gave them extra leeway with posing ideas. Sorry Catherine! hehe.
Chocksett Inn weddings have really flourished over the years, and I’ve loved to see the progression.
It is a Central Mass wedding venue that is so elegantly renovated & decorated and is a perfect mix between elegant and inviting.
Once the dancefloor was going and reception formalities were finished, we stole these two for a few minutes of alone time. My favorite time of the day.
He’s not only handsome, but he’s a sweetheart too! #futureheartthrob
Gorgeous cousins alert!
This was a wedding day that was so perfectly them, just as I’d imagine it would be. Congratulations Catherine & Sean!
