Miranda and Drew’s Greek Wedding at Tower Hill Botanic Garden was beyond beautiful, but also filled with those meaningful moments and pure joy that bring us back to photographing weddings time and time again. These two were so excited to spend the day with family and friends after the long bout of separation because of Covid. But … they spent their pandemic time wisely, and learned a new skill that they brought with them to the wedding – dancing! And wow, did they dance. From their beautifully-choreographed first dance in the Orangerie at Tower Hill where their wedding reception was – to the traditional Greek dancing and finally the PACKED dance floor to finish out the night.
Drew and the guys had genuine bow ties, which are classic and so so worth it. But they take some experience! And a quick YouTube study and groomsmen Phil stepped up to the plate. But the end result was perfection…you’ll see!
Miranda and her ladies got ready for the wedding day at her parents home, just down the road from our portrait studio in Bolton. We arrived as they were practicing their Greek wedding line dance that would open up the dance floor that night.
Miranda’s sister and mom helped her into her gown, and dad got to see her first. Then the big reveal with the bridesmaids!
Their wedding was at the GORGEGOUS Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church in Marlboro, MA. Miranda’s smile lit up the entire church as she walked down the aisle, and I love the glance to her mom just before she got to Drew.
Stefana crowns started in the 11th century and are still one of the most important Greek wedding traditions. As someone with very little tradition (ok, essentially none!), I love when cultural or family history is celebrated.
Miranda + Drew had a birdseed toss exit planned, but they had to get everyone outside before them! They decided to greet all of their guests inside (while their parents did outside) quickly, which made for a reverse receiving line that moved super quick and got the job done. Brilliant. AND…I’m obsessed with birdseed exits. Keep scrolling, my friend!
We love being the preferred photographer/videographer team at Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Central Mass. It’s one of our favorite wedding venues and its just down the road for us! Click here to see more of the weddings we’ve captured at Tower Hill – they do a fantastic job every single time.
Clearly this is an easy group to take pictures of. Everyone was in SUCH a great mood, ready to celebrate Drew + Miranda’s wedding in the garden at Tower Hill. And below…I always love sister vibes, and these two fixing each other for pictures was completely unscripted and so cute and sweet!
The connection between Miranda and Drew is beautiful – love and laughter. And they literally take time to smell the flowers…these are our kind of people.
After pictures in the garden, they headed to cocktail hour in the courtyard to spend time with family and friends, and celebrate, enjoy drinks and laughs before heading into the Orangerie for the reception. Ohhhhh the gorgeous greenhouse where garden wedding dreams are made! We’re so lucky to have this venue just outside of Boston!
Miranda and Drew took up a new hobby during their pandemic time – dancing! After months of practice the first dance was perfect – Mango Tree by Zac Brown and Sara Bareilles.
Blue ombre cake by Peppers Artful Events in Northborough, MA, who did all of their catering.
Nothing gets the dance floor started like Greek line dancing. Everyone basically jumped from their seats to the dance floor. There was so much dancing that it even extended outside!
It was so nice to see so many people on the dance floor. There were so many unknowns at the beginning of the year, but to see life returning to normal – the hugs, the closeness, the joy – its everything.
Miranda + Drew, congratulations friends! We hope you had the best time in Iceland, and we can’t wait to shower you in SO many pictures and your wedding film!
