Becca and Ben’s Boston Public Library wedding was black tie and straight out of a fairytale.
Settle in and let’s swoon together as we relive their wedding day at the Boston Public Library.
The wedding day started at the Ritz Carlton Boston Hotel where Becca got ready with her mom and favorite girls. She had her wedding details ready and waiting for me (thank you!).
The theme for the wedding was a secret garden.
I love the soft accents they planned to balance the library, like the watercolor painting of the Boston Public Library courtyard, where their wedding ceremony took place.
Here’s the woman of the day, our bride Becca. She is one of the warmest, most inviting people you’ll meet, and every toast that evening talked about her smile and how she lights up every room. She sat so happily for the amazing Love Notes by June for her hair and makeup. But she may have been foot dancing a little, too…all with Belinda of Belinda Norris Events checking in to make sure they day ran flawlessly.
Becca’s beautiful mom, best friend and sister helped her into her Sareh Nouri gown. The perfect trifecta of support.
Meanwhile, Ben was getting ready for the wedding at the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel. After getting his bow tie just right, he focused on his favorite guys, handing out gifts and pouring drinks to celebrate before the first look in the St James Room with his bride.
This first look moment was just for them. They booked a small ballroom at the Fairmont Copley (the St James Room, which seats up to 120), which gave them both privacy and respite from the heat out side.
From the Fairmont Copley to the Boston Public Library. I love their reaction as they felt the hottest day of the year when they stepped outside!
Their wedding party was awesome – they had the option of heading inside for a portrait in Bates Hall or standing in the heat for a little longer and they unanimously chose to stay outside. Good people.
One of my favorite things about working with these two is watching the chemistry between them.
I saw it first at their Marblehead engagement session and again on their Boston Public Library wedding day.
We disappeared for a few minutes and explored all the library has to offer before their Ketubah signing and wedding ceremony in the courtyard, with a series of loving-mixed-with-epic portraits.
Jeri Solomon Flowers really made Becca’s vision of a secret garden wedding a reality with the Chuppah floral design in the BPL courtyard and inside the Bates Hall reception space you’ll see soon.
Their ceremony was elegant, meaningful and joy-filled, officiated by Becca’s cousin. Then back inside for cocktail hour in the library bar, with time for mom and time for friends.
The Boston Public Library is one of the most unique, stately wedding venues in New England, filled with rich history and beautiful art.
Bates Hall, usually a quiet space reserved for hardworking studies, is transformed with dramatic uplighting, warm table lamps and floral tablescapes.
The night started with the sweetest toasts (during which, we found out we share a love of Catan!), continued with dinner by The Catered Affair and ended with dancing until late as Splash!, a Wilson Stevens Band, kept guests going until after midnight.
And at the end of the night, a vintage car waited for the newlyweds. This was truly a fairytale wedding.
Congratulations Becca & Ben. Thank you for inviting us to tell your story.
