Emily and Chris’s Willowbend Cape Cod wedding day happened exactly one year after they were married.

I feel like I’ve known these two for so long. We made it through the pandemic together and I watched as they married one another during an intimate wedding ceremony with 20 of their closest friends and family on Nut Island in Quincy, before their big Willowbend Cape Cod wedding. In a small ceremony last year, they looked forward to this celebration for so long. There have been so many ups and downs through the entire process. Well, I can tell you for sure it was worth the wait. Showing up to see familiar faces was a fantastic way to start the day.

While the ladies spent hours getting ready, the guys had time to get dressed, undressed, shotgun beers and get dressed again. Thanks to Ben for talking some sense into them so they wouldn’t while fully dressed, and ruin their white shirts and ties.

Emily and Chris are like real life Ken and Barbie. They’re just as sweet as they are beautiful. They had their first look across the street from Bristol Beach in Falmouth. And thankfully, they only have eyes for each other because the beach was packed, but I swear they didn’t even notice.

High winds gave us some cool portraits with her veil blowing, and somehow her hair and makeup stayed completely intact, courtesy of the incredible duo she had – JMV Makeup + Maricruz Hairstyles. Based on the winds, we decided to move the wedding party pictures from the beach to the Willowbend, where their wedding would take place in Mashpee, Massachusetts. Ben’s always there to lend a helping hand, helping Chris’ with his boutonnière from The Wandering Florist.

Emily’s brother and her are very close, and he officiated their wedding just as he did last year during their ceremony last year. If anyone thinks that these delayed covid weddings are any less meaningful when the couple’s already been married, you’re so wrong. They’re just as sweet, if not sweeter, for having survived potentially one of the hardest years ever.

The ceremony was filled with heartfelt vows that they wrote to one another. Laughs, tears, hugs and love….this time shared with 150 of their favorite people.

I don’t usually include my magical “wind” machine, but she did it with such flair that I had to include her!

Willowbend Country Club in Mashpee, Mass has a fantastic cocktail hour space with a huge patio for people to just spread out and lounge.

These two do triathlons together, and had a fun finish line entrance in tribute.

The toasts were sweet, and we got to steal them away for 5 minutes to make some soft evening light portraits by the iconic red barn at Willowbend before dinner was served and the dance floor opened…more on the dance floor coming up! But first…furbaby socks, cuz Brady had to be with them in some way!

These posts covid weddings have become the most incredible celebrations, with so much love, so much hugging and dancing so, so freely. I actually got really emotional during the open dance floor at their wedding. Just seeing families reunited and having such a good time knowing that there was so much space and time in between them during 2020.

I think this day was everything that Emily and Chris hoped it would be. I really hope that it was. I’ve loved getting to know them over the years, and I can’t wait to see how cute their babies are going to be. ???? Emily and Chris, congratulations!
