My heart is bursting over Emily & Matt’s Long Island Sound engagement session. If you can’t get an idea from the picture above, check out the one below!
Or this one…seriously?!
As wedding and portrait photographers, we get to experience the beauty in the lives of our couples and families for a little slice of time. If you follow our work, you know that we shoot with our hearts first and heads second, so I dive in heart-first and feel like I live their lives for the time we’re together. The beautiful effects of this one stayed with Ben and I long after the cameras were put away. Let’s see why…
We started at their beautiful CT farmhouse, where Matt has worked over the years to rehab and restore. We first saw the fire in the backyard…and the tractor. We thought we had the wrong house! Haha – nope. They thought these would be fun “accessories” to the session…and we agreed! Emily & Matt welcomed us with the most open arms, immediately offering us a beer/wine before anything else. That, my friend, is my kind of hospitality. #wino
They have a new, sweet puppy and a sailboat in the Long Island Sound. From the backyard to the ocean, our adventures continued.
And of course their puppy is the most perfect sea dog!
One of the things that struck me about these two is that they don’t take an ounce of this beautiful life for granted. You could see the gratitude in their eyes and pride in their voices. They were so excited to share it all, and relished every moment together.
Blue Steel + champagne. And also, Matt let Ben steer the sailboat…or would I say “navigate the helm?” That sounds so much more seaworthy, but Matt, I’m sorry I am probably so wrong on what the helm is, despite your best efforts! Oh, one fun fact about Ben – along with being an FAA-certified Drone Operator, he also has his Coast Guard Boating License!
We sailed through sunset and got back just in time for puppy school. Emily & Matt, thank you for sharing your lives with us during a session we will never forget. We cannot wait to take the magic from the ocean to the mountains, for your Omni Mount Washington Resort wedding next year. Getting married in the White Mountains of New Hampsire?
