Jess & Brian’s Salem Cross Inn Wedding

Things don’t get much sweeter/happier than sunflowers and Disney World. So I wasn’t surprised when Jess & Brian – two of the most kind-hearted people you’ll meet – told me their Salem Cross Inn wedding theme was going to incorporate both. The weather was perfect – blue skies, warm sun, and everything was in bloom in the gardens of the beautiful Salem Cross Inn.

With the beautiful day here, their happy personalities, farm venue and love of all things Disney came together to make their wedding truly theirs. You’ll see touches of sunflowers, lots of smiles, Mickey Mouse and other Disney surprises throughout their highlight here…enjoy a peek into their happy wedding day!

The Salem Cross Inn is a true gem for brides & grooms looking for a rustic wedding venue in Central & Western Massachusetts. The grounds are meticulously groomed and the Inn – outside and in the barn where the reception is hosted – is filled with so much beautiful, vintage character. Here’s Jess & her proud dad making their grand entrance. These two didn’t have a first look so this is the first time Brian is seeing his beautiful bride!

Their married! I love Jess’s dad’s expression as he watches his daughter, now grown and married, heading down the aisle. I’m pretty sure I had that same look when my son Trevor hopped on the school bus to Kindergarten for the very first time last fall…I can only imagine how it feels to watch your baby get married.

We headed to the gardens of Salem Cross Inn, and as we did a huge flock of birds took flight in the distance. It was incredible to watch and felt like such a gift!

Brian has this sweet game he plays, where he kisses all over Jess’s face. With no one else around, he kissed her forehead, then her nose, and cheeks, and lifted her chin to kiss her lips. And she radiated happiness and love. It was the sweetest moment and I love that we got to witness and capture it.

The barn at Salem Cross Inn where Jess & Brian’s wedding reception was held is the coolest. Tons of antique trinkets and signs adorn the room with so much character.

Their entrance! Jess knew how to work her beautiful gown…more on this later!

Jess’s brother gave a great toast, and her Woman of Honor actually sparked a singalong to “Somewhere over the Rainbow” for them! There’s a special place in Jess’s heart for someone who wasn’t able to attend but was there by her side – the heart tattoo is in memory of her beloved grandmother, and is one of the reasons she chose her dress. So her grandmother would be represented with love and happiness on their day.

A couple of my favorite details…that little pink box on the edge of the dessert table? That was for US! Jess and Brian ordered a whole box of sweet treats from Cakes by Amanda for Ben, me and our boys. I have to say, this was pretty awesome at the end of the night and the boys loved it the next day. YUM. Thank you again! You are too thoughtful!

We snuck outside for about 10 minutes during the reception to soak in the golden hour. The hour where the light is soft and beautiful. It wrapped around them and Salem Cross Inn and helped us create some of my favorite portraits of the day. It also gave them some quiet time together.

…but with the dancefloor rocking just below!

Congratulations Jess & Brian. Thank you for having us alongside. It’s been a pleasure working with you from start to finish…though we’re not finished yet. Lots more beautiful pictures and an album to come! xo.
