Mike and Cass’s winter wedding was at the historic Omni Parker House in downtown Boston…and also happened to be our last wedding of 2017. What a way to close out our season. We’ve known Mike for some time now, having worked with him on the “other side” at Central Bistro, where he is general manager. We immediately connected when we photographed our first wedding there, so we were THRILLED to hear from him after he fiiiinally proposed to his stunning girlfriend Cass.
They planned an elegant black tie wedding, and Cass spoke for months wishing for just a bit of snowfall. Well, as Mike says, she gets what she wants. And on her wedding day, she got the first snowfall of the season – perfect snowglobe-worthy snowfall. I’m so happy to share this highlight, of their picture-perfect winter wedding day.
Wedding planning tip #1: When a groomsman loses his bowtie and pocket square the night before your wedding, just cut another in half and make it work. They’re all oversized anyway! Also, the cocktail socks are perfect for a bar GM. Perfect.
We had known Mike for a while before meeting Cass, from working with him at Central Bistro in Downtown Crossing (check out Frankie & Christina’s Central Bistro wedding here!). She’s his perfect match, and he lights up when he sees her…she’s also a nurse so she’s basically a saint. She loves sparkle and pretty things, and the Allure gown she chose was perfect.
Stop-traffic stunning.
Omni Parker House is one of the coziest hotels in Boston. The holiday decor took it to the next level, with twinkle lights and wreaths everywhere. Mike & Cass decided to fully embrace the snow they wished for, and had their first look on Wheaton Terrace as planned, snowfall and all.
With the snow falling heavily, Cass pulled Mike back inside, and the two shared a sweet moment in front of the marble fireplace. They cried, they laughed, and they reveled in the fact that it was SNOWING!
A huge thank you to Amanda at Omni Parker House for making everything run so smooth and for helping us find the perfect place for indoor pictures…gorgeous window light and some laughs with the ones you love.
The bouquets by Bloom Couture were stunning against the sparkle of the gowns.
Every member of the wedding party gets an award for being the biggest team players here…it was cold and snowy, and there wasn’t a single complaint about going outside. They knew it was important to M&C, and they were going to help make the magical snowy pictures happen at Old City Hall, across from the Omni Parker House.
Mike & Cass had their wedding ceremony at the UMass Club at One Beacon Street in Boston. As UMass Amherst grads, Ben and I were especially happy about the location. (U-U-U-UMass!). The coordinators at the club greeted guests with champagne, and welcomed them into the ceremony space, 32 stories above the city (killer view below).
Mike escorted his grandmother, and then the flowergirls stole the show…or ringbearer, really. Here’s a quick example of lemons turning into lemonade. A few things didn’t go as planned in the morning. One of them was the flower girl baskets. Amanda at Omni Parker House saved the day with one large basket, and thanks to that basket, the ring bearer was able to DIVE into the petals and help celebrate the moment. It was adorable and sweet and one of the best moments!
For anyone who thinks that a first look takes away from the “aisle” moment, think again…
When we arrived back to the Omni Parker House, the Rooftop Ballroom was set for the night. Just the right about of sparkle, and a whole lot of class.
That dress!
The night was filled with so many meaningful, loving, fun moments. From Cassie’s best girls’ roast, I mean toast, to Mike’s brother’s heartfelt speech. To parent dances that included ALL parents (first time seeing this and I LOVED it, it was so incredibly thoughtful!), Boston Cream Pie and 3,000 homemade italian cookies, and lastly the most incredible club DJ in Boston, Angel from Pure Energy. The night was insanely fun, and I think it was just as Mike and Cass hoped it would be.
Congrats M&C. We adore you, and are so happy you’re finally married!!! Looking forward to our next drink date, friends.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! You captured all the love and happiness this day could possibly hold for Michael and Cassandra! I still can’t believe how you were able to get all these amazing shots! Thank you for all your hard work! We will be enjoying these pictures for many, many years to come.
