One of the loveliest days of the year was September 26, which was also Robyn and Joe’s backyard wedding day in Wellesley MA!
The day started at the Lenox Hotel in Boston, where Robyn got ready in the Judy Garland suite. They were married at St Cecilia’s by Father John who – in my humble opinion – creates the most personal, meaningful Catholic ceremonies in the city – before heading to the Boston Public Garden for portraits. From there, they headed to a gorgeously-transformed backyard wedding in Wellesley MA, created by Heather Dawn Events, Peak Event Services and Bloom52.
Joe is the very best bow tie tier I’ve ever seen. Not only did he tie his own tie flawlessly, but his best buds and brother-in-law’s, too! The day included just their immediate family plus besties, and everyone was so kind and so happy to celebrate these two.
Robyn got ready in the Lenox’s penthouse suite. I loved her bridal details…which she decided on about 10 minutes before she left for the ceremony!
Ok, before I go any further, I have to give a big shout out to Robyn’s incredible vendor team. She had the best! Heather Dawn Events and Bloom52 were so lovely to work with, and did a beautiful job. While I was swooning over the wrist corsages that Katie of Bloom52 created, she handed me a vase of stems for detail-styling. I was FLOORED in the best way. I usually ask florists for stems, but its not always a well-received request. She went out of her way to make sure Robyn had the best on her wedding day, and I loved that. I referred her to one of our 2021 brides that very day based on this one seemingly-small moment.
Robyn got ready with the help of her bestie Devyn, with her mom and soon-to-be niece close by. You know who else was close by? Robyn’s girl ARIANA – check out her reception kicks!
Having a small wedding takes nothing away from the moment you exchange vows and marry the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. All of the emotions and meaning are still there, maybe even more, based on the intimate weddings and elopements I’ve witnessed this year.
Waving to friends & family on the livestream…
Robyn may have been as equally excited to officially become an auntie to Joe’s niece and nephew as she was to becoming Joe’s wife! Family is so important to both of them, and the kids are a big part of their lives.
We headed to Boston Public Garden for portraits, and the moment – being the bride in the BPG on her wedding day – hit Robyn and brought the tears back. The Garden was absolutely packed, but somehow everyone disappeared from the bridge for one magical moment.
Robyn decided she wanted to toss her bouquet, so Devyn found a group of girls who were up for the challenge! It was so much fun, and so unexpected. Bouquet tossed, we headed to Wellesley for their backyard wedding. The entire space was transformed, with a clear-roof tent by Peak Event Services, florals everywhere by Bloom52, and the cutest details executed flawlessly by Heather Dawn Events. Dinner was family-style barbecue by Sweet Cheeks, and was some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had.
Congratulations Robyn + Joe!

Thank you so much for sharing your wedding ???? With me! Tho we have never met, Robyn, I have known your mom since childhood. She used to babysit for me tho I am not that much younger and your grandfather was the principal of my school and we also belong to the Community Church where my grandparents and parents were married. Felt the need to share about me since I was able to be on your virtual guest list. Your wedding was truly the most beautiful I have ever seen. Even tho miles separated us, I felt like I was there wit you and just felt and saw what everyone there felt and saw and loved it all. Thank you! Wishing you both health and happiness always, your new friend, Barbara
