So typically December/January is the slow season for wedding and outdoor portrait photographers in New England, but this hasn’t been the case for Ben & I this year! Our first wedding of 2015 was just 3 days into the new year with Sara & Brian. They were married at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and celebrated with family and friends on the 36th floor at Boston College Club in downtown Boston.
I met Sara over a year ago when I photographed my first wedding at The Boston College Club. She’s the Event Director there and oversees all of their weddings, which is why her and Brian chose to get married in January (off-season!). So considering she’s worked with hundreds of photographers, it was particularly meaningful to me that she selected us to photograph her wedding. She & Brian are some of the nicest, most laid-back people ever. I love when brides tell us, “we trust you…you do what you do, and we’ll be happy.” This inspires me to no end. Combine that with a an awesome venue and a ridiculously welcoming wedding party and family, and we know magic is going to happen.
So enjoy Sara & Brian’s beautiful winter wedding. And if you’re looking for a unique venue with a fantastic view of Boston and killer service, give Sara a call. Boston College Club is perfection. But just wait ’til they’re back from their honeymoon. 🙂
Sara and her girls got ready for the wedding at the Langham Hotel in Boston, conveniently located across the street from BC Club.
Brian surprised Sara with a new David Yurman!
Meanwhile, the guys got ready at their apartment in South Boston with some help from Brian’s mum.
Yep, she’s winking at a guest as she walks down the aisle. Adorable!
One of my favorite moments during a wedding ceremony is when the groom glances at his bride with so much love and awe in his eyes. Here’s a shot Ben captured as Brian admires Sara, unbeknownst to her. 🙂
Cathedral of the Holy Cross is such a gorgeous church, rich with history and detail.
After the wedding ceremony, we braved the cold temperatures and headed to Fort Point Channel for portraits along the water, followed by more portraits back at the Langham Hotel and finally a few with just the two of them among the twinkle lights at Faneuil Hall, as snowflakes started to fall.
Our last stop was at the BC Club, for dinner and dancing with First Class Band.
Boston College Club is an elegant venue with floor to ceiling windows showcasing 36th-floor views of Boston. I love the upgrades they selected, from the clear chivari chairs, to the gorgeous centerpieces by Michele Bernard and amber uplighting.
First Class Band in action!
I always love the moments shared with grandparents. Here’s one of Sara & Brian with hers. And the following two pictures are truly a testament to how incredibly thoughtful Sara and Brian are, first as she welcomes her grandmother onto the dancefloor for a special song to celebrate her 80th birthday, and then as the two of them slip away from their celebration to personally give every single member of the BC Club staff a thank you note.
Formalties complete, its party time!
Congratulations, Sara & Brian!
