Spencer family portraits (at one of my favorite session locations!)

Words cannot fully describe how much I love this little family of four. So hopefully their Spencer family portrait session will help show you all of the ways.

I’ve been photographing Nicole and Charlie since their Zukas wedding in 2017 and it has been the biggest pleasure watching their journey continue, as their family grows. From the birth of their first son to celebrating their second’s first birthday.

These two have been through hardships and blessings and believe in celebrating family, love and all of the best moments that life has to offer. It’s no wonder that their home is filled to the brim with family portraits in every room, as a warm reminder of what’s truly most important.

But also CAKE! I get asked a lot about one year cake smashes and if you know me, you know I’m not about anything overly posed or “cheesy” – but a cake smash is SO. MUCH. FUN. We keep it simple and let it be about baby – this was a seamless paper backdrop that I brought to their home (for a clean background and the easiest cleanup!).

It’s pretty incredible watching personalities emerge through the smash. It’s less about the cake and more about the expressions! And then we’ll make it a party and get everyone involved. Cuz sharing is caring, friends.
