We celebrated our last wedding of the year at Mount Washington Resort with Darcy and John, this time at Crystal Hills at the Rosebrook Lodge.

The White Mountains is their favorite getaway, where they’ve spent countless hours of quality time and skiing the slopes of Bretton Woods with each other and family. Also…Ben is an FAA-certified drone operator, which makes aerial pictures like the one above possible! He’s up there capturing video and always makes sure to grab a few epic pictures for our couples, too.

The White Mountains is their favorite getaway, where they’ve spent countless hours of quality time and skiing the slopes of Bretton Woods with each other and family, so it was an easy decision when they found out that there was a brand new venue being constructed at the top of the mountain – Crystal Hills at the Rosebrook Lodge, just down the road from the iconic Mount Washington Resort (where we’ve photographed all of these beautiful weddings!).

Darcy got ready with her mom and sister…her and her sister sang their way through the day which is something I DO TOO. It’s like our lives are like musicals. It was fun to take part in theirs! Darcy’s wedding gown was GORGEOUS by designers Maggie Sottro. I love the combination of beading up top and flowy gown down below…it means epic portraits later when we can twirl and play!

Both John + Darcy are some of the kindest people you’ll know. John got ready down the hall from Darcy with his dad, nephew and best friends.

This guy was winning the morning…dressed early, shoes off, Sour Patch Kids in hand.

Darcy + John wanted a private location for their first look, which can be a challenge when you’re in the White Mountains in October. We planned for our favorite little slice of property. Just the two of them, they read cards to each other before we quickly made our way around the property for the best portrait locations…the wedding stars were aligned for these two. There was NO ONE around…it was pretty incredible and so much fun!

Since their wedding venue, Crystal Hills at the Rosebrook Lodge, is at the top of a mountain, guests have to take a gondola ride to the top. This is a treat by itself, but of course these two made it even better by providing hot cider and donuts for their family + friends!

Whenever couples worry that a first look takes away from the big “aisle” emotion, I think of these moments. Darcy and her dad, both emotional, as she prepared to marry her best friend.

Their wedding ceremony was officiated by Darcy’s longtime family friend, and it felt like they got married on top of the world, with clouds and mountaintops in the background.

Apparently the fellas felt left out of the glamour of having an off-the-shoulder shawl! lol – nicely done. And below, cheers to Marjorie, the event manager at Omni Mount Washington Resort who makes everything happen so smoothly, always with a smile on her face and a willingness to help wherever is needed.

Darcy + John entered the room in a way we’ve never seen before and we loved it!! DJ Newt Wells had family and friends up and dancing before they entered the room. He introduced just the two of them, and the dance party was immediately on!

Then family and friends parted so they could share their first dance together as husband and wife, and then dances with their family. There was a break for dinner and toasts, and then everyone was back to it on the dance floor.
