Happy Friday! It’s cold and rainy out this morning…a perfect day to curl up and enjoy a warm, sunny backyard Cape Cod wedding in Orleans MA with two of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever met. I’m so happy to share Matt & Emily’s beautiful wedding highlight! This one may be a little long but truly spectacular and totally scroll-worthy. Here’s a bit about their day, then its happy scrolling for you!
Emily and Matt’s backyard wedding was held at her parents’ home in Orleans, one of my favorite little Cape Cod towns. It’s a bit of a ride to get there being on the outer edge of the Cape, but so totally worth it. It has a quiet magic about it, and was the perfect setting for these two to exchange their vows and celebrate with their favorite people.
The day ran completely flawlessly because of the hard work of the Elegant Engagements team and the amazing catering by Sumptuous Foods Catering. Both were absolutely wonderful to work with – gracious and helpful, keeping everything running smoothly all day. I highly recommend both! And Wilsons Stevens’ Boss Band kept everyone in the tent by Be Our Guest Party Rental on their feet dancing all night!

Emily & Matt headed out our way a couple of months before their wedding for their engagement session, and made the sweetest guest book with their pictures!
Meanwhile, just down the road Ben was hanging with the guys…
Emily’s girls are sweet and fun and I immediately wanted each of them to be my best bud. They were such a treat to work with all day long. And MOH Curry will happily pull out her best “inappropriate stories to tell while my best friend is getting into her wedding gown” stories to keep Emily laughing and relaxed.

Emily and Matt planned their first look in the woods across from her parents home. She wanted to face him while he approached. This moment, or series of moments, will forever be one of the most meaningful moments I have ever photographed. Their love is so true and strong and beautiful to witness (and photograph). Matt so openly and honestly loves this woman so incredibly much, and she feels just the same. Their admiration for one another is palpible. And so there are many, many pictures of their first look here. I just can’t get enough, and I hope you feel the same once you have the opportunity to enjoy this truly once in a lifetime moment.
At the end of the wooded path is an opening to the cove, so he headed there after their first look for portraits with their wedding party.

And then the guy’s turn. And the fog rolls in within seconds! Craziest thing ever, but they rocked it and it made for the most beautiful soft light for a portrait of Emily.
