Where do I begin with Sarah & Jeff? These high school sweethearts exude love & gratitude – for each other, for their families, for their friends. Kindness radiates from each of them in a way that’s almost palpable. You can’t help but smile when they’re around. Sarah will warmly ask how you are, and they’ll both listen attentively.
They also have a knack for keeping each other laughing, and calming each other’s nerves. Its their obvious connection that took them to their high school Junior Prom, and its this connection that has kept them so in love ever since. They’ve grown up together, from 16 years old to adults.
High school sweethearts & soulmates. With two incredible sets of role models to show them how its done. Here’s their beautiful wedding story.
Sarah & Jeff got married at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Assumption College, where her parents were married…by the pastor who married his parents. Perfect inspiration from two couples who have been happily married for 30ish years. They planned an unplugged ceremony – where they ask guests to tuck away their phones and be fully present.
Jeff kept sneaking looks at Sarah throughout the ceremony. As if he couldn’t believe this day had come. The day he marries the love of his life. He couldn’t keep his eyes off her.
LOVE their exit down the aisle together. You can hear Sarah laughing in this picture!
They hosted a receiving line to greet & thank their family & friends…and when the crowd quieted, it was just the two of them. No prompts needed.
Their wedding reception was at Zukas Hilltop Barn in Spencer, which is where Ben and I were married 11 years ago. We have the pleasure of photographing several weddings at Zukas each year, and every single one is spectacular. Alyson and the team do an amazing job, consistently above expectation in every way.
Sarah & Jeff had a choreographed – and gorgeously-delivered – first dance, followed by two fantastic toasts. Jeff’s best bud (and best man) got the crowd going and the couple embarrassed with his toast REAL quick. hehe, I’m still laughing over his opening line. And this moment below cracks me up. It was warm in the tent when the festivities started…but these guys had iPhone-powered fans! Ben was so intrigued so they treated him to a personal fan service!
Favorite part of the night – just before sunset when the light is soft and beautiful, and the couple is ready for a few quiet minutes alone. This is when our portrait magic happens.
The dance floor was PACKED. Cllllll night long, thanks to DJ Greg Bedard and a group of super-fun friends & family. Congratulations to an incredible couple.
Sarah & Jeff, it was such an honor to be a part of your day. Here’s to a lifetime of love & happiness.
