It’s our very last wedding of the winter season! What better way to close out an incredible wedding season than with a fellow wedding industry friend? Today’s beautiful bride Aimee plans weddings at The Langham Hotel in Boston. If you follow our blog, you’ve probably realized that we’re gaga for The Langham, so it was fun to celebrate Aimee’s turn at the white dress and wedding day!
Aimee & John chose The Colonnade Hotel in Boston’s Copley Square as their winter wedding venue for its incredible food, attentive staff and beautiful ballroom. The grande black and white marble foyer inspired the elegant black, white and gold color palette.
Aimee & John’s main squeeze is this little man below, Cameron. Cute as a button, and ready to celebrate with mom and dad.
Aimee’s two sisters and her beautiful mama helped her get into her gown and sparkly shoes as fast as can be, so we could catch the last of the sunlight outside. We had about 10 minutes to work with, and the ladies totally rocked it in the freeeezing cold. All with smiles and grace.
Cam got dressed with dad and the guys. Cutie face…
Aimee & John had the largest wedding party we’ve ever photographed. But as I listened to Aimee talk about these 24 people who made their world incredible, it made sense to me. “We wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for each and every one of them,” she told me. They are family.
Little man steals the show again!
Teeny, tiny and oh so adorable!
The ceremony was held in the Boston Room at The Colonnade Hotel.
Possibly my favorite moment of the day. When Cam made sure his beautiful mama had some snacks, and snuggles. And also to admire her gorgeous wedding gown. The wedding party’s private cocktail hour swirled around them, but nothing compared to this quiet moment together. Mama and baby boy.
So how do you pose a 24-person wedding party, indoors, with lots of drinks in hand? Well, first you start with groomsmen ideas, then a group serenade, and then a quickly-composed lounge-inspired series of group portraits!
Aaaand it was party time!
John’s brother and best man gave possibly the nicest best man speech ever. He started by saying that most best man speeches were a roast, but this one was not going to be that. And he continued to tell story after story about John’s incredible character, kindness, generosity and heart. It was a seriously tough act to follow, but Aimee’s sisters did such a beautiful job, essentially echoing a lot of the same sentiments about their sister. These two love fiercely and loyally.
We made a plan to utlitize the foyer for pictures after they ate their dinners (we are big advocates for eating on your wedding day, friends!). But first, dance party…
One of the reception details Aimee was most excited about was their dessert bar. She told me about their favorite childhood desserts, and their adult guilty pleasures, and The Colonnade did it RIGHT. What to do after stuffing yourself with sweet yummies? Work it out on the dancefloor, obvs!
Congratulations Aimee & John. There’s no better way to wrap up our 2017 winter wedding season, than with you!
