They were married last year in a small ceremony and waited patiently for their big day. Their overall goal? For everyone to just have a great time.
Good times, good friends, good food. We’ve worked with a lot of the people at this wedding. We photographed several weddings within the circle, Maggie’s sister and maid of honor has been in several of the wedding parties. So we knew it was going to be a good one.
Maggie and Andrew planned a weekend where friends could come together, kayak, play lawn games, share drinks, stories and laughs for more than just one day. The vibe is very chill. A little campy, a little rustic, all outdoors.
The part of the day that I am the most smitten with is their private vows, which they exchanged during a first touch. This was the first time we’ve ever photographed a “first touch”, and I definitely thought it was just a Pinterest-y photo-opp thing…but they had a whole different take on it, and a meaningful reason beyond any photo opp that 100% captured my heart.
Seeing their vows exchanged in real life, seeing how moving it was for the two of them to share personal vows and for us to watch their reactions as they listened so deeply, without being able to see one another. I think taking away the visual made the words sink deeper. This personal vow exchange is one of the wedding moments I will never forget. I will carry this with me for the rest of my life. It was that good.
The outdoor ceremony location at the World Conference Center is almost like a secret garden. It’s tucked away. And the Birch Tree Chuppah complimented the space perfectly.
Andrew’s mentor and youth group leader was there efficient, I always love when there’s a personal connection. This wedding reminded me a bit of Nyssa and Pedros Thompson Island wedding, which was camp themed, but oceanfront.
The night was filled with cupcakes and dancing and excellent food, the staff at Warren Center is top notch. Maggie and Andrew loved their coordinator, she helped make the day so special for them.
The dance floor opened whether or not anyone wanted it to because guests just couldn’t wait, everyone has been so excited to celebrate this year. Throw in some Jewish line dancing and nearly everybody was on their feet on that dance floor.
Congratulations, Maggie and Andrew. What a day! We are so glad to have been there with you.
