Alex and Phil selected Scotland Fields in York Maine for their intimate summer wedding.
Nestled just off the coast of mid-Maine, they fell in love with this sweet little wedding venue because they were able to rent and use the entire space for the entire weekend. They dreamt of a weekend filled with memories and games with family and friends, were the time was leisure and the conversations were good. Beers, lawn games, dancing.
I first met this sweet bride years ago, at her cousin Maggie’s Warren Center wedding. Then spent the day with her again at her sister Juliana’s wedding at Fruitland Museum. See a trend? They all chose unique venues that invite their guests to enjoy the countryside – the lush greens of the gorgeous summer months in New England.
Dan is Juliana’s husband and is going for brother-in-law of the year, steaming Alex’s dress before the wedding day!
Family is everything to these two, so Alex chose to get ready with just her mom and sis, before meeting Phil on the farmhouse porch for the happiest first look ever…
One of the aspects I love about Scotland Fields most is the aesthetic indoors rivals the aesthetic outdoors. The day was drizzly, but it never once dampened the pictures or the mood. I actually forgot it had rained when we were remembering it just the next day.
Alex and Phil got married on the Bungalow porch. Just big enough for their 50 favorite people and an aisle where her parents could escort her to meet her beau.
It was deeply important to these two, to involve everyone in their celebration. Their best friend officiated, their nephews pelted them with nerf darts, and they even had a ring bearer lottery. It was a mystery under the chairs as to who had the rings!
This York Maine wedding venue also had a gorgeous barn for dinner and dancing at Scotland Fields. But first…cocktail hour!
I love that they still had a band, with just 50 guests. They knew the smaller sized wedding would NOT slow this crowd down, and Sons of Businessmen made sure it happened.
In their lighthearted spirit, why have a wedding cake when you can have a wedding cake piñata!? They strung it from the rafters of the barn and swung away! And then the Hora – the dance that no Jewish wedding is complete without. Alex and Phil congratulations! We are so happy for you and so blessed we got to spend the day with you and your favorite people. Speaking of favorite people, see you at Adrienne’s wedding next year!!!
