The Atlantic Resort Newport overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, with a manicured lawn for outdoor weddings (like Meredith & Brandon’s). Cambria Suites Newport is also on property so friends & family can settle in for the weekend. After some drone footage of the grounds, Ben and I headed in to greet Meredith & Brandon, who were getting ready in suites just around the corner from each other. These two were so calm and relaxed! There was a great vibe to the day, even early on.
Brandon’s brothers were his support throughout the day and stole the show with their toasts during the reception. One of the things I enjoyed most about this day is the closeness of the families. They each have brothers – this was a day of A LOT of brothers – and share such a strong connection with their siblings and parents.
Back to the ladies. I was so impressed with the delivery of the flowers by Weedweavers Wakefield. How cool is this wooden bouquet caddy?! The flowers were stunning and this made transportation a breeze.
Meredith opened her card & gift from Brandon before getting into her gown. So so calm and ready to marry her best friend. Oh, and you’ll get a peek below at one of my instant-favorite-people-of-all-time, Grandmom below. She might be the funniest person I’ve ever met.
Meredith looked so elegant in her gown. I loved the shoulder detail, and those beautiful earrings from Brandon! Once she was ready, she met her dad for the very first look. He barely held it together, waiting patiently to see his baby girl on her wedding day. But he did it!
Brandon & Meredith asked us for help choosing locations for their first look & wedding party portraits. They rented a vintage trolley and were up for anything off-sand. I’m pretty excited about the plan we came up with…from Paradise Park for their bride & groom first look & family portraits (free of wind & rocky terrain!), followed by 3rd beach and then the cliffs at Purgatory, all within 10 minutes of the Atlantic Resort.
In Jewish tradition, Brandon & Meredith had a private ketubah signing ceremony led by Brandon’s rabbi, Rabbi Jerome David, prior to their ceremony at Atlantic Resort. In the eyes of the temple, this is when they are officially married.
The Ballroom at The Atlantic Resort is on the second floor. Step out of the elevator and you’re greeted with this gorgeous modern, airy room filled with lounge furniture and light.
Meredith & Brandon, congratulations friends. Your day was perfect. You are both so so lovely, and your families are just the same. We loved being a part of the day, and are so excited for your journey ahead!
Today is all about Jackie & Steve’s Cape Cod wedding in Orleans MA. Their beach wedding plans were all about family and friends, and just having a fantastic time on the Cape, and that’s exactly what they did. The weather cooperated 100% and they had their ceremony at Skaket Beach in Orleans, and continued the celebration just down the road at their Captain Linnell House wedding reception. This was our first time at this adorable beach estate venue on the Cape, and it was such a wonderful experience – the food, service and atmosphere was top-notch.
Without further adieu, here’s more of Jackie & Steve’s day! …
These guys were hilarious…lightly inappropriate at times, but hilarious. I kind of appreciated the complete candor. Made me feel like one of the guys. 🙂 And I won’t point fingers at the guy who can’t tie a tie. But you know who you are!
Onto the girls – these ladies were instant friends as I figured they’d be from getting to know Jackie. And her beautiful mom is a friend and former coworker from a past life (was there life before photography?!), so it was extra special to me to be a part of the day with these wonderful and inviting people.
Gorgeous girls! The fuschia peonies complemented the purple of their gowns perfectly, and looked amazing on the beach.
Speaking of the beach, Jackie wanted a “kick off your shoes” wedding on Skaket Beach, so that’s just what she got. My shoes are happily in there as well!
Their Skaket Beach wedding ceremony couldn’t have been more perfect, officiated by Jackie’s uncle Kevin with the backdrop of pure blue skies, sun and sand.
The sun can be harsh at 5:00 in the summer, so Ben and I popped down to the beach earlier that day and discovered this gem of a side road, with the most beautiful afternoon light. With that amazing light and no one else around, these might be my favorite pictures from the day.
The lace wrapped around her bouquet is from her mom’s wedding gown!
After pictures it was time for dinner and dancing at their Captain Linnell House wedding reception.
The Captain Linnell House is an old estate, so dinner was divided up into several dining rooms giving the wedding a great, intimate feeling. Oh when we were at the beach earlier in the day we scooped up a little beach wood for the ring shot. Lit with my ice light of course!
First time I’ve ever seen an all-male congo line! I hope this becomes a trend every time “Its Raining Men” is played. Guys, let’s make this happen more often.
Who wouldn’t LOVE an old school ice cream truck showing up at the end of the wedding?! Jackie and Steve hopped in to help him out….
And this photo preeeeetty much sums up the night. High fives, happiness & love to Jackie & Steve.
I’m excited to share my last wedding of the official season with you! It’s a goodie…Jessica & Thomas’s Popponesset Inn wedding in Falmouth was absolute perfection. Seriously. This beautiful bride worked for months on all of the details and all of her efforts were so worth it. They’ve also contributed to making this one of my longest blog posts EVER. Well, that along with the beautiful portraits (taken in record time), the special moments shared throughout the wedding day and the best wedding band I’ve seen yet.
I could go on for a while about J&T here (they are both awesome people through and through and are an amazing match), but since I’ve included so many pictures, I’ll let them do the talking and just point out a few of my favorites: Jessica’s stunning gown, the rings!, the programs Jessica designed, the incredibly-coordinated table settings and centerpieces, the coolest escort cards I’ve seen (actual compasses!), the wedding party, and The Beantown Band. They’re incredibly talented, friendly and FUN. They had the entire place dancing even before dinner service was finished (which was surf and turf, a tough act to beat!).
Jessica & Thomas, we had such a great time being your Cape Cod wedding photographers. Your wedding was unreal. Enjoy!
