Luke & Allie’s Gibbet Hill Engagement Session

Luke & Allie’s Gibbet Hill Engagement Session

Combine two of the cutest people with one of my favorite wedding venues on a cool November afternoon and you get Luke & Allie’s Gibbet Hill engagement session! These two are getting married at this same location next October, but knew they wouldn’t be able to get up to the beautiful castle ruins beyond the rolling hills of Gibbet Hill on their wedding day, so it made a perfect location for their engagement session. Allie and I are total kindred spirits with happy hearts. I’m pretty sure we mentally booked with each other before we actually even spoke. And then we waited patiently for Iron Man Luke to recover from not one but two super-athlete injuries (things I know absolutely nothing about, but respect. A. Lot.).

The day was a perfect one for pictures – the sun graciously hid behind light clouds until closer to sunset and then came out to give us absolutely gorgeous warm light in the castle. Oh and there was a Delorean – a REAL Delorean – in the Gibbet Hill parking lot. So random, and I’m not even a huge Back to the Future fan, but it was pretty darn cool to see. And of course get a picture of Allie in front of it. 🙂

Can we start a countdown to 10/30/15 yet?!

Jessica & Chase Rustic Fall Engagement Session – Central MA

Jessica & Chase Rustic Fall Engagement Session – Central MA

Jess & Chase’s engagement session is today’s feature, before I head out to the Red Barn in Amherst for their tasting event! These two are super sweet and easy to be around. So sweet that Jess baked us chocolate chip pumpkin cookies! Those were gone pretty much immediately. Thank you again, Jess! We will never ever refuse your baked goods.

These two were looking for a great fall location, so I selected one of my favorite barns/conservation areas in Central Mass, and then we added on a stop at the Old Stone Church in West Boylston, a classic for engagement pictures. These two have amazing chemistry, and 100% took advantage of my direction to enjoy each other and the moment. So much so that there were a few occasions where I felt like I was interrupting…in a nice way of course! Here are a few of my favorites from their session.

Kirsten & Rob’s Boston Public Garden Engagement Pictures

Kirsten & Rob’s Boston Public Garden Engagement Pictures

Kirsten & Rob’s Boston Public Garden engagement session is the first feature after getting back from vacation! This is a great one to start with – and I’m smiling as I’m writing this post, looking at this happy bride and her beau. The day was super-overcast, at first I was a little concerned about getting enough light into their eyes. I went back to my car to get a flash (nooooo) and came back to brighter skies….just enough so we didn’t need the flash, phew! Instead we got the creamy-soft light that only a nicely overcast day can give.

Kirsten is gorgeous and super easy going…and also totally happy to turn it on for the camera, as Rob laughed when I asked her to grab her adorable leather jacket and sass it up for me. We’re going to have so much fun next fall at their State Room wedding!

Spencer & Kristina’s Larz Anderson Park Engagement Session

Spencer & Kristina’s Larz Anderson Park Engagement Session

Last week I met up with Kristina & Spencer at the Larz Anderson Park in Wellesley MA for their engagement session. They live just down the road and couldn’t have picked a better spot for a cool fall day…but beware of high school cross country runners!

Spencer & Kristina have pretty intense schedules – we found the one day that would work between Spencer’s Harvard MBA mid-terms and Kristina’s PHD studies for a little time away. They fully enjoyed their quality time together. For most of their session I just let them be, because they were being pretty darn cute and photographable. I’m pretty sure they forgot I was there a few times, getting lost in their time together. Knowing their intense schedules made it that much nicer to see – I felt a little bad interrupting. But we had the park to explore…and found treasures all along the way.

Larz Anderson Park has a beautiful view of Boston, just beyond the treeline.

How amazing is this golden tree!?

Spencer & Kristina, I had a great time with you, and look forward to your BC Club wedding next summer!

Brian & Caitlin’s Arlington Engagement Session

Brian & Caitlin’s Arlington Engagement Session

Brian & Caitlin’s Arlington MA engagement session is today’s feature! These two grew up in neighboring towns of Lexington and Arlington, so it made sense for us to plan their session in one of their hometowns…this was great practice for their will-be-here-before-we-know it New Years Eve wedding at the Royal Sonesta (just 2.5 months to go!). I love NYE weddings – there’s a special magic to them, and I’m so excited to spend the night with these two!

It was super windy during the shoot, but wind can add an extra dimension to pictures if used the right way – I love the way it catches her hair in this next one, it makes their skyline kiss that much more dramatic!

Caitlin & Brian, the countdown to NYE begins!!!

Rob & Killeen’s Beverly MA engagement

Rob & Killeen’s Beverly MA engagement

Killeen & Rob are two of my new favorite people. They’re awesome people, and are so perfect together. They’re getting married at the beautiful Glen Magna Farm next summer. And they also happen to be good friends with Josh & Rachel (you may remember these two from their South Boston engagement session and will see more of their beautiful Renaissance Waterfront wedding next week!). Oh, and the camera loves them. Right Rob!?

We met for their north shore engagement session in Beverly, and headed to a beautiful little park just down the road from their new home (which is adorable, btw!). This session was so much fun…I’ll let their pictures finish the rest of this story. And will try to wait patiently for their Glen Magna Farm Wedding next year.

Ryan & Sara’s Central Park NYC Engagement

Ryan & Sara’s Central Park NYC Engagement

Ben and I snuck away to Manhattan last week to spend some time with our Boston-turned-NYC couple Sara & Ryan – we planned a NY Central Park engagement session starting at the iconic Bethesda Fountain, and continuing through the park, stopping at Sara’s favorite places along the way for pictures.

During busy season, trips like this – even though a working trip – are our vacations. And it definitely felt that way with Sara & Ryan. So incredibly easy to be around, we felt more like we were meandering through the park chatting with friends (and learning some great tidbits about the park from tour-guide Sara!) rather than working. We laughed a lot and learned a ton about each other. Ryan is totally Sara’s prince charming – I love how she lights up when she’s around him. Sara & Ryan, thank you for sharing a night out with us – we’re so glad we planned your session in NYC, and are just that much more excited for your Ritz Carlton wedding in Boston next June!

Ryan & Megan’s Portsmouth NH Engagement Session

Ryan & Megan’s Portsmouth NH Engagement Session

Portsmouth NH is one of Ryan & Megan’s favorite spots. It’s also just down the road from their new home, and where they’ll be married next June at Wentworth by the Sea. It just so happens that its one of my favorite little cities too, so I loved having an excuse to visit. Megan, Ryan and I wandered the streets of Portsmouth and along the water. It was a beautiful night and the conversations were easy – so much so that we continued on until after the sun went down, ending with a shot I absolutely loved (the last one featured here). Being extra happy with the last one, we met back up with Ben and our boys, I had to show Trevor. “Wow, that’s a GOOD one” he said. Glad my little guy shares my vision.

Megan & Ryan, I will happily meet you anytime. Next time without the kiddos so Ben and I can join you on the patio for dinner, and we can resume our discussion on cute Timberland shoes 🙂

Hope & Michael’s Sun-Drenched Meadow Engagement

Hope & Michael’s Sun-Drenched Meadow Engagement

Let’s start this dreary morning off with a sun-drenched engagement session. Meet Hope and Mike! Hope and I have mutual friends, and before I met her I had heard amazing things. She works with kids and our friends coined the term “Hope Day” when Hope comes to their home to meet with their kiddos – and they all look forward to it each week. I had my own Hope (and Mike!) day in Sterling for their engagement session and it was a blast. They made it the perfect date night, starting with professional hair & makeup and ending with a dinner date out before heading home. The light, the field of wildflowers, and the chemistry between these two couldn’t have been more perfect for their session.

They’ll be getting married at Apple Hill Farm in central Mass next year.
