We love photographing mountain weddings…particularly White Mountains weddings…and especially in the fall. We love even more when we’re invited to photograph the weddings of couples we’ve connected with already…like say, the little sister of our bride Meagan, who married Dan at Gibbet Hill a few years ago. Add that its at an epic new-to-us wedding venue like Mountain View Grand, and we’re giddy and showing up the day before to scout the best locations.
Enter Molly & Josh, our beautiful mountain-hiking high school sweetheart couple. They’ve hiked a ton of the peaks you’ll see in the background, and even got engaged on the top of one of them (which one was it, Josh??). Get ready to fall in love with these cuties and their Mountain View Grand wedding day!
Did you know that Ben is an FAA-licensed drone operator? We offer photo & video, and when couples book us for both, they get the added bonus of aerial photography included! We stayed onsite the night before, which gave me the opportunity to fully capture what the feeling was the day that Molly & Josh got married. Red Barn in sight? I’m there, camera in hand.
Me, one with the llamas. Ben grabbed this BTS of me scouting the property for the very best angle for Molly & Josh.
The Mountain View Grand is really an epic location for couples planning a wedding in the White Mountains. The hotel itself is grande from the outside, yet cozy on the inside.
Those baby blues! Family is so important to both Molly & Josh. I love that their sisters were in the wedding party, Molly’s mom helped her into her gown while her dad waited outside patiently to see his beautiful daughter in her wedding gown.
I sometimes hear that couples are hesitant to book with a wedding photographer who hasn’t photographed at their venue yet. This was our first time at Mountain View Grand, and it thrilled me to the core when Alexis, the loveliest onsite wedding coordinator, exclaimed that this was the first time she’d seen a photographer use the location we selected for Molly & Josh’s first look. Yeay! It was my favorite spot, slightly obscure, but those views. Thanks to Molly & Josh for trusting us with our somewhat random location choice. 🙂
These two enjoyed the private time together. They strolled together and laughed and loved.
A storm was on the way, and it was unclear how long it would last so we called in the troops for wedding party portraits by the Red Barn out back. These guys were so much fun to work with and we got the portraits done in lightning speed. It rained for a few brief minutes and cleared out BEAUTIFULLY for their outdoor wedding ceremony at the gazebo in front of Mountain View Grand Hotel.
We pretty much used every square inch of Mountain View Grand for their portraits. Family pictures were in front of the hotel, with sprawling mountain ranges in the back.
The one, the only, UMA!
Family headed to cocktail hour so we made this:
The wedding reception was in the Presidential Ballroom at Mountain View Grand. Molly & Josh tied in the mountain venue and their love of hiking into the wedding night beautifully, showcased in their homemade guest book, trail mix & maple syrup favors and gorgeous cake. The night was filled with laughs and happy tear and dance moves. I’ll let you scroll on from here for the rest. 🙂
Congratulations Molly & Josh. We were so honored to be there with the two of you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for choosing us.
