today’s love story:
Alyssa + Richie’s Cliff House Wedding
and all the magical moments that made it
There’s a weekday wedding trend that’s growing and I’m fully on board – I have to imagine that you will be too when you see Alyssa + Richie’s oceanfront destination wedding at The Cliff House in Ogunquit Maine…let’s see!
First up, Richie + the guys. Richie is one of those magnetic people that makes everyone feel like a superstar. He’s warm and welcoming and we were fast friends. His brother was his best man and his groomsmen were like extended family. He got everyone cuff links made from Fenway’s green monster!
Family is so important to these two. Alyssa got ready with the help of her twin sister and beautiful mom, and dad caught a quick glance before she rushed out to see Richie, who was waiting patiently for their first look above the cliffs. She couldn’t stop because she knew she’d be a puddle of tears with Dad.
This was our first first look with twins! Richie is a pretty lucky guy, just sayin. I love Lauren’s reaction here, as we watched Alyssa’s nerves melt away.
There’s so much to love about The Cliff House. It’s one of the most majestic wedding venue destinations in northern New England (Mount Washington Resort is the other!) and the absolute best for couples who want a luxury oceanfront wedding. Alyssa + Richie’s wedding party braved the rocks for portraits.
Can we pause for a moment to take in this wedding arbor? Well done, York Flower Shop. I’d also like to give huge kudos to Sara at Candlewood Events who made all of this possible. Her expertise in luxury weddings and in keeping everything flowing smoothly is top-notch. We photographed her wedding at BC Club looooong ago (6 years) and love working with her every time. It’s like seeing family!
The wedding ceremony overlooked Maine’s southern coast and the weather was so clear you could see forever. We were at Cliff House just weeks before for Stephanie + Dakota’s wedding and the weather was so different – check out the magic of a foggy day here. Totally different but equally romantic and magical.
The night was perfection inside and out, and Retrospecticus did a phenomenal job keeping the dance floor packed. Who would have guessed it was a Tuesday night. When you’re celebrating a couple you love, the day of the week doesn’t matter. Friends and family came to have a great time with this sweet couple. What a day.
Congratulations Richie + Alyssa! Next up? Your wedding film trailer! Stay tuned, friends.
