Coastal Maine Wedding at French’s Point: Kendra + Pat

Our last Fall wedding – Kendra and Pat’s midstate Maine wedding at French’s Point, just outside of Bar Harbor – was a long time in the making.

Their original plan was to get married in July BUT travel bans to Maine and social gathering limits of 10 people prevented that to happen. So they rescheduled to October and crossed their fingers. Meanwhile, weddings all around their NEW date were moving to 2021 because of Covid uncertainty. So our fingers were crossed tight for them…our toes, too. As their wedding day got closer, Maine restrictions eased and the social gathering limit was lifted to 50 people. 50 people allowed them to include their family and very best friends. Game. On.

The gorgeous invitation suite above was created by Ashley Elizabeth Designs. Be prepared to be blown away by the details and the vendor team that Kendra assembled. This girl knows what she likes, and she knows the people to call thanks to her years as a Wedding Coordinator at Omni Mount Washington Resort, which is where we first met. It was love at first-wedding-together! lol. We were extra excited to be a part of the day.

Excellent company and flawless styling. And those jammies! Nice pick, K. Love them.

Kendra and Pat originally chose French’s Point because they could host an entire wedding weekend for their favorite people. The property overlooks Penobscot Bay, and has several buildings for guests to stay. The guys got ready in the Guest House, a gorgeously-appointed cottage with gorgeous light.

While Pat read his card from Kendra, his brother waited in the game room for a mean game of ping pong.

A little intro from Pat – the nicest guy ever – on how to switch your look from Summer wedding to Fall wedding. Keep the pink suit liner…but swap in an orange tie. Well done, my friend.

French’s Point is on a cliff overlooking Penobscot Bay, and there’s also access to the beach…a beautifully private location for their first look.

Kendra is a hostess through and through, and welcomed guests to the outdoor ceremony overlooking the bay with warm apple cider, donuts and snuggly blankets. Guests were happy.

They were married by Father Larry, who works often at Mount Washington Resort.

The florals. They don’t need any words. This is one of the most stunning arches I’ve ever seen…and just wait until we get inside for the reception! Mind blown.

We snug up to the balcony for some drone footage and evening portraits…and though the day was grey from beginning to end, the most magical sunset showed up to wish them congratulations. It was fleeting but beyond magical.

A day like this doesn’t happen without an incredible wedding planner at the helm. Hats off to Melanie of Blissful Beginnings who ran the entire WEEKEND flawlessly. She was there before we had our first coffee and there long after we had our feet up in the cottage. She had a smile the whole time and just made stuff happen.

Velvet table clothes on long rustic tables, with beautiful rustic chairs, and flowers and candles from one end to the other.

K+P, it was a bumpy road to get to this day. xoxo from the bottom of our hearts for including us in your magical wedding weekend. I can’t imagine a more beautiful, perfect celebration of your love. I hope you look at these pictures and think that it was all so worth it.

Thank you so much, Mr. & Mrs. Ewing for inviting us to that LOVELY wedding. (– Just finished viewing the beautiful photos.) It was truly a gorgeous event. We are just so sorry that the closed border [USA & Canada] COVID prevented us from attending in person. We even had our hotel reservations booked and were planning what route to fly out there from western Canada. [B.C.]
