If you ever want someone to photograph your winter engagement adventures in the White Mountains, we’re your people!
I wouldn’t have said that at the start of this session (I was shivering SO hard, despite multiple layers!) but after discovering I had hand warmers in my pocket AND the brisk walk down The Flume Gorge Trail in Franconia NH thanks to the pace set by this lovely lady, Kendra, I was feeling good and ready for some winter magic in Franconia Notch.
We met Kendra at Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods when we photographed our very first wedding there in 2017 for Sarah & Brian.
We immediately hit it off and had so much fun working together. We are so honored that she put us on the hotel’s preferred wedding vendor list AND definitely did the happy dance when she called us for her own wedding! The girl’s got style and grace and she’s also super laid back, so their wedding at French’s Point (a waterfront wedding venue on the coast of Maine) is definitely going to be the best time.
And then there’s Pat. Kendra told me about him long before I met him–he’s warm and kind and not surprisingly, a school teacher. He had a cold during our session, but you’d never know it. It was easy to see how much he loves Kendra in every interaction, and he seriously wins MVP for this engagement session. Their connection was fun to watch, from the silly moments to the sweet ones.
And also…he wears matching LLBean boots for her. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is!
The Flume Gorge trail was a cool spot for engagement pictures because you get the red covered bridge (so iconic of the NH mountains) and also the rocky gorge and waterfall…
here’s the behind the scenes of the trek to the waterfall. It might look like a simple walk, but it was completely covered in snow and ice! Though pretty sure I’m the only one who clumsily wobbled down the walkway. lol.
We made a quick outfit change at Cannon Mountain before our last location, Echo Lake.
Ben and I stopped at Echo Lake one summer with our son Trev when he was a baby, and every time we drive by we have the best memories. It was fun to make some new winter memories here. Ben got the drone up in the air for a few aerial portraits, someone’s foot may or may not have broken into the ice (safety first, its why we didn’t go out far, so thankfully it was funny and not scary!), and Kendra and Pat even enjoyed their favorite beer – Erastus by Schilling Brewery in Littleton NH – in celebration.
You guys. This day was so much fun, and our stay at the hotel that night was perfection. We are so looking forward to your wedding in Maine this summer!
